The year in books

dime_novel_heroIn the past year, I purchased 116 books, most of which (74) were either steampunk or Victorian related. This is up from my total purchase of 86 books for 2009. The total value of the books were $1,700 but I only saved $500 off of that by using Half-Price books and receiving books as gifts. Most of the books I purchased I paid full price for. 29 were new this past year. 39 of them were graphic novels or manga.
As for DVDs, I picked up 47 new disks (or collections) down from a peak of 78 films purchased in 2009. I spent $550 on DVDs.
